Little Rock police have arrested the man they say killed a Fayetteville teen during an apparent carjacking May 10.

Darrell Dennis, 47, of Little Rock, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of capital murder, two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of kidnapping in the death of Forrest Abrams, 18, who was found dead in the roadway at Woodrow Street and 11st Street in Little Rock.

Officers responded to a report of a carjacking nearby. Abrams friend, Tyler Hodges, 22, of Little Rock, told police that he and Abrams had been approached by three black men at a gas station at 12th and Woodrow. The men demanded a ride at gunpoint, the report states.

Hodges told police that they drove to a house at 4th and Woodrow where they got out of the vehicle and stayed for a while. But a short time later, the three suspects left with Abrams.

Abrams was later found shot to death. The victim’s vehicle was found abandoned around 9 a.m. on Charles and Bussey Avenue, according to police.

It’s the city’s 12th homicide of year.

Abrams’ girlfriend, Ashley Nicole, told 5NEWS, “Forrest has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met…(I)t truly breaks my heart to think someone could do this to my Forrest.”
