5-Year-Old Boy Shot In The Face In Benton County

A five-year-old Benton County boy is in the hospital after police say he was shot in the face.

Decatur police responded to a home at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, in reference to a gunshot wound. When responders arrived, they found a young boy had been shot in the face, according to the Decatur Police Department.

The boy was transported to the hospital in Siloam Springs. He was later airlifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, police said.

Detectives are investigating whether the shooting was accidental. No one is in custody, according to Decatur police.
