Two Huntsville men now face criminal charges in Madison County after the girl they allegedly supplied alcohol to died of alcohol poisoning.

Michael Alan Brokelsby, 24, and Cordell Lee Ashby, 20, were arrested by county deputies and face charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and obstructing government operations, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Andrea Carreno, 15, died in April of acute alcohol intoxication, according to findings from the Arkansas State Crime Lab. She had a blood-alcohol level of 0.37, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The men had invited Carreno and another girl in April to their home, where the men made plans to provide alcohol to the girls, deputies said.

“Both men constructed false statements to the Sheriff’s Office to cover up the usage of alcohol while with Carreno, which prolonged the investigation,” according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office.
