A Saturday evening fire that started in a shop building destroyed the building and several vehicles inside at a Benton County residence on Hobie Court.

Benton County Fire Marshal Marc Trollinger said a car, a boat and some ATV vehicles were consumed in the fire before it was brought under control. Trollinger said the fire started in the shop building, spread to several smaller structures and eventually burned approximately 15-20 acres of land.

Crews from five fire departments responded to the call. Rogers Fire Chief said there were 13 trucks on the scene from Beaver Lake, Rogers, Rocky Branch, Avoca and the NEBCO fire departments.

Trollinger said the fire threatened residential structures but none were damaged as the firefighters were able to bring the fire under control. No one was injured in the fire.
