The skies will soon light up with fireworks shows across the viewing area and many places are preparing for the Independence Day extravaganza.

Tim Reed, the owner of Riverside Fireworks, worked behind the scenes on Sunday (June 30) at Cross Church in Rogers. He's also getting ready for the Siloam Springs show at the airport on July Fourth.

His crew has an electronic firing system, which he said helped them get a trophy in last year's National Fireworks Convention.

"We have to put a match in every queue to set off certain effects to certain beats of the music," Reed said.

The crew has fire extinguishers just in case of a fire. There are several things they do to be extra careful during their shows.

"For safety these are all screwed down so they aren't just sitting there,” Reed said. “They are attached to these pallets."

There are other shows happening in the region like the one in Samuel Dalton’s hometown of Bella Vista.

"It's going to be going to be in the Highlands in Bella Vista off a Lake Loch Lomond and it's been great in the past,” Dalton said. “It's been a 30-40 minute fireworks show."

Fireworks shows always attracts hundreds of spectators who enjoy its sights like Angela Hines who watched the display at Cross Church.

"The thing I love most about fireworks shows is the family time, getting together with friends that you haven't really seen and here it's the expression of freedom," Hines said.

There's a lot imagination behind the spark and Reed said applying it is what he enjoys the most.

"It's just being able to be creative and do what we do to please the people," Reed said.
