Springdale Apartment Complex Fire Causes Evacuation

In Springdale, emergency crews were called out at about 4:50 a.m. this morning to a fire at Foxfire Apartment Complex on West End.

A Springdale apartment complex was evacuated just before 5 a.m. Friday (July 5) as a fire broke out.

Emergency crews led residents in the complex to safety at the Foxfire Apartment Complex on West End.  No injuries were reported.

The fire damaged two apartments in the building.  Both of those apartments are considered to be a total loss, according to James Hales with the Springdale Fire Department.

Hales said the cause of the fire is under investigation, but it appears to have originated from the outside.

Three residents were displaced by the fire.  Hales said the occupants of the apartment attempted to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher before calling firefighters, but were unsuccessful.

According to Springdale Firefighters, the fire is now contained and residents in all but the two badly damaged apartments were able to return to their apartments.

Hales said the residents in the two apartments have been given another place to stay by the management of Foxfire Apartments.

Three engines, a ladder truck, and a command vehicle with the Springdale Fire Department all responded to the fire.
