Police released a description Wednesday of a man they are calling a "person of interest" in an arson case involving three houses near Highfill that have caught fire since Tuesday.

At least three Benton County houses were set on fire since Tuesday, two of which caught fire Wednesday morning, according to Benton County authorities.

Highfill police said they are looking for a gold minivan driven by an older while man. The van was seen leaving the scene of at least one of the house fires, police said.

The Highfill Fire Department, along with firefighters from several other agencies, responded Wednesday morning to house fires on Malone Road and Hendrix Street, according to Benton County authorities. The houses were vacant, as was a separate house that caught fire Tuesday near the same location, said Jeff Parks, assistant fire chief for the Highfill Fire Department.

Parks said the fires appear to have been intentionally set, and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fires, along with the Highfill Police Department.

Anyone with any information on the case or the person of interest is encouraged to contact the Highfill Police Department at 736-1211.
