A Kansas rape suspect is in the process of being extradited to Benton County following a three-week investigation in alleged rapes involving three underage girls.

Floyd Jetson Dorsey, 61, was arrested July 18 on suspicion of three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual indecency with a child. He remains in the Ottawa County Jail in Minneapolis, Kan, awaiting extradition to Arkansas, according to the Rogers Police Department.

Rogers police detectives began investigating Dorsey on July 8 following allegations that he sexually assaulted three females. The suspected victims, ranging in age from 15 to 22, were underage at the time of the alleged sexual assaults, police said.

Police issued arrest warrants for Dorsey after investigating the rape claims, but Dorsey had since moved to Kansas. He was then arrested last week by Kansas authorities.

“Dorsey was known to volunteer in the community and may have had contact with other children,” according to a statement from the Rogers Police Department. Anyone with more information on Dorsey is encouraged to call Rogers police at 479-621-1172.
