A Benton County administrator has been arrested on suspicion of theft after officials say he mishandled county money.

Scott Stober is the public services administrator for the county. He has not been fired from that position, but he may be terminated as early as Wednesday, according to county officials.

Officials said Stober’s arrest concerns suspicion that he misappropriated county funds for personal use. He was booked Tuesday afternoon into the Benton County Jail and faces a charge of felony theft of more than $500 but less than $2,500, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
