Fayetteville Police are searching for a man accused of trying to set his girlfriend’s car on fire while she was in it.

Officers were called out to 3425 Buckeye Street around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday night (July 31) after a report of a domestic disturbance, according to Sgt. Craig Stout with the Fayetteville Police Department.

Once there, a woman told officers that her boyfriend, Jason Mason, had started to pour gasoline on her 2006 Honda Civic while she was inside.

The woman told Fayetteville Police the two had been arguing all day, and she was trying to get him to get in the car and leave at the time but said the argument further escalated into the attack.

Mason lives in Pine Bluff, but Fayetteville Police say he may have been staying with his girlfriend at the time.

Mason is described as a black male, 5’10”, weighing 150 lbs. Fayetteville Police say he may be driving a black Cadillac passenger car.
