The Siloam Springs man accused of walking into another man’s home and stabbing him earlier this week was released Thursday from Benton County Jail.

Gary Kindy, 53, was released from jail on $100,000 bond. He was booked into the facility Tuesday night and faces felony battery charges in connection with the stabbing, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

Kindy and his alleged victim, Timothy Long, were hospitalized following the stabbing in Siloam Springs on Mount Olive Street, just south of U.S. Highway 412. Kindy was released shortly after arriving at a local hospital and was then transported to jail. Long, 37, was placed in the intensive care unit, family members said. His injuries were non-life-threatening, according to emergency crews who responded to the scene.

The suspect’s daughter told 5NEWS she believes Kindy was drunk at the time of the confrontation. Police said Kindy walked into a home on Mount Olive Street and stabbed Long twice in the abdomen. An eyewitness responded by hitting Kindy in the head with a pipe before police arrived, according to family.
