The Fayetteville School District is showing off the latest phase of construction to its high school.

The district will hold an open house for parents and students Saturday (Aug. 17) from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.  Classes resume on Monday (Aug. 19).

The section is 115,000 square feet and made up of 55 classrooms, including digital labs and an outdoor animal science lab. This phase was completed on time and on budget, according to school officials.

“We're so excited that this is coming together,” said Patty Plummer with the Fayetteville School District. “We're so proud of the new instructional places that we have been able to create for our families here in Fayetteville. Different concept based off small learning communities so it's kind of a school within a school concept."

The next phase to open will be the agricultural center. It is expected to be complete in January. The target for completion of all three phases is 2015.

An open house for the public will be held from 6-8:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29
