A one-car wreck Friday afternoon on Interstate 540 near Rogers was soon followed up by two other crashes, totaling nine wrecked vehicles in all.
A pickup truck ran into the median on Interstate 540 near Rogers shortly after 5 p.m. The white pickup truck lay smashed up against the wire median near Exit 83 as motorists looked on.
Less than one hour later, emergency crews responded to two other crashes near the original wreck on the interstate. A six-car wreck brought northbound traffic to a halt, while a two-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes stopped traffic traveling that direction.
There were no injuries reported in the wrecks.
