A dive team began searching a pond near a rock quarry east of Ozark for a possible homicide victim Friday (Aug. 16), according to Franklin County Sheriff Anthony Boen.

Boen said they received a tip that a body may have been dumped in the water and that a dive team with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission is searching the water.

The dive team is searching for the body of Regina Woodward, of Ozark, who went missing in July, Boen said.

It's the second time in the past month that officials have searched that area.

There were also several people out on all-terrain vehicles in the area throughout the afternoon looking for any signs of foul play.

“We called in the Game and Fish dive team to help us out, just to clear up anything but so far the search has come up with nothing,” Boen said.

While in the water, divers did locate a car. However the sheriff says the car is completely unrelated to Woodward’s disappearance.

The team pulled out of the water late Friday afternoon. Boen said as of now the search in that area is over.
