Authorities said a 32-year-old Rogers man was struck and killed by a car on Highway 71B on Saturday night.
The Arkansas State Police identified the man as Jose Villatoro-Munguia. An accident report said Villatoro-Munguia was walking in the roadway on the 2300 block of South 8th Street, also known as 71B, when he was hit by a 2008 Hyundai Sante Fe driven by Balentina Ortiz.
Ortiz was not injured.
Fire officials responded to the accident, which occurred in front of the Metroplex Event Center at approximately 9:37 p.m. Officials said Ortiz was driving north when the accident happened.
Villatoro-Munguia was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is under investigation.
