An Oklahoma man accused of using a fake Craigslist ad to rob a man at gunpoint was found guilty by a Benton County jury Wednesday.
Tevin D. Knight, of Vian, Okla., was found guilty of aggravated robbery and sentenced to serve 12 years in prison, according to Benton County Circuit Court Judge Robin Green’s office. Knight could have faced up to 40 years in prison for the offense.
Knight will be eligible for parole in about eight years, according to the Benton County Prosecutor’s Office.
Knight was arrested last may after police said he robbed a man he lured to McDonalds in Pea Ridge on Feb. 12 by saying he had an iPhone 4 to sell. The victim said Knight instead pulled a revolver on him and stole $500, according to an arrest warrant affidavit out of Benton County.
Knight was a suspect in similar robberies March 4 in Lowell and days later in Crawford County, according to court records.
