A Rogers man arrested in connection with a murder case involving another Rogers man from 2011 is scheduled to be arraigned today (Aug. 26) in Benton County.
Fred Bremer, 39, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder earlier this month. According to Missouri and Arkansas authorities, Bremer was arrested in connection with the death of Jack McCain, who died from a shooting in 2011.
Bremer is accused of giving McCain a ride down Gobbler’s Knob Road in McDonald County, under the pretense of helping McCain feed his animals, according to a probable cause statement form filled out by the McDonald County Sheriff.
Bremer “shot him repeatedly in the back while Jack was running away, thereby causing his death,” according to the document.
Bremer was presented with extradition paperwork to be transported to the McDonald County Sheriff’s Office, but he refused to sign them, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
