Curtis Coulter, 34, arrested and facing charges for reckless driving and fleeing after leading a Washington County Deputy on a high-speed chase through Fayetteville Monday (August 26).

The chase around 2:45 a.m. was all caught on dash cam video with speeds reaching up to almost 100 miles per hour.

The chase started on Gregg Avenue when the deputy said he heard the motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on I-540.

“He`s putting everyone at risk, he`s running red lights, running stop signs even though it`s 2:45 in the morning you never know who is out at that time,” said Captain Dallas McClellan, Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

McClellan said Coulter wrecked the bike on Mall Avenue and took off on foot.

The deputy caught up with the suspect where he was hiding behind a dumpster.

In the dash cam video, you can hear Coulter tell the deputy he didn’t hear the sirens as the deputy was trying to pull him over.

“You didn’t hear me back there?” said the deputy.  “No Sir. I had my iPod in,” replied Coulter.

Officials say Coulter told the deputy he was the opening manager here at Academy Sports and was late for his shift, which started at 3 a.m.

McClellan said Coulter was not wearing a helmet or protective riding gear

“He wasn`t transported, he was checked out by an ambulance at the scene, he does have some road rash, but it could be a lot worse,” said McClellan.

Several Fayetteville police officers also assisted as the Coulter was taken into custody.
