A Fayetteville woman who appeared on the MTV show “Catfish” has an October trial date on a DWI charge, court records show.

Sunny Cross’ trial was set to begin on May 1 in Fayetteville District Court, but was reset for Aug. 28, and now has been rescheduled to begin Oct. 9, records show.

Cross was arrested on misdemeanor suspicion of driving while intoxicated on Jan. 27, according to arrest reports.

She was booked into the Washington County Detention Center but was released on a $1,055 bond, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department website.

Cross appeared on “Catfish” in November 2012 during which it was revealed she had an online relationship with a person who turned out to be a woman instead of a man as she had believed.

A preliminary police report states an officer observed a maroon passenger car following another car too closely on Gregg Street at approximately 2:40 a.m. on the date of her arrest. The officer said he noticed the car cross the double yellow middle line, so he pulled the car over, the report states.

The driver, identified as Cross, failed a field sobriety test and had red, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol, the report states. She registered a blood-alcohol content level of .08 on a breathalyzer at the Detention Center at approximately 3:39 a.m., according to the report.
