A private aircraft made an emergency landing at the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport on Wednesday (Aug. 28) around 7 a.m., according to Kelly Johnson, airport spokeswoman.

Two people were on board the Citation aircraft, which landed at XNA because of an overheated battery, officials said. No information was available on the plane’s destination.

The plane landed without incident, with emergency response crews on hand as a precaution, officials said.
