Hog fans from across the state are headed to Razorback Stadium for Saturday's season opener against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.

In the River Valley, fans are already gearing up for the game. They say it's been a long off season and they're ready for kickoff.

"I'm very excited," said Steve Rappeport, who belongs to the Fort Smith Razorback Club. "With football season, there's so many people that are worried about how many games we're going to win or lose or if we're going to have a good season? But to me, just the excitement of being up there being around the fans, being around the stadium, being around the football team and all of that excitement, it's just really very exciting."

Fans from across the state said they're ready to see new head coach Bret Bielema and the team take the field as Arkansas tries to bounce back from a 4-8 season.

"A lot of the mystique this year is the fact that no one's been able to watch practice," said Lee Bauman, also a member of the Fort Smith Razorback Club. "It's hard to judge whether we're going to be good, bad or indifferent. Hopefully, we're going to be good."

Fans headed to the game Saturday said they're leaving first thing in the morning so there's plenty of time for tailgating.

The football team starts the Bielema era Saturday at 3 p.m.
