OG&E customers across the River Valley were without power Wednesday night (August 28).

A transformer failure at a substation on Riverside Dr. in Fort Smith is to blame for those outages. Rob Ratley with OG&E says that substation serves the Norton Alcoa plant, which is impacting outlying circuits in the affected areas.

2,100 customers in Muldrow, 3,000 in Van Buren and 770 in Vian were without power as of 10:00 p.m.

Power was restored by 12:00 a.m. Thursday (August 29).
