A Bentonville man charged with murder in the death of his wife last August was found mentally fit to stand trial.
With the help of a guard Perry D. Davis appeared in a Benton County courtroom Friday morning (Aug. 30). His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 1.
Police say Perry killed his wife during a police standoff at the couple’s home, before turning the gun on himself. He has pleaded not guilty to capital murder and felony kidnapping.
Davis was arrested Nov. 8 after spending three months hospitalized in Bentonville, Fayetteville and Little Rock, recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He remains in the Benton County Jail without bond, according to jail records.
