Former secretary of state Condoleeza Rice will speak at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville as part of the university’s Distinguished Lecture Series this spring.

The free event is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, in Barnhill Arena. No tickets are needed to attend.

Rice served under President George W. Bush.  She was also the first woman to serve as Bush’s assistant to the president for National Security Affairs.

The Distinguished Lecture Series is a student-sponsored program. Speakers are chosen by a committee of students, faculty and staff, and the events are funded by a student-approved fee, appropriated by the Programs Allocation Board.
