Fire Destroys Bella Vista House

A Bella Vista house is a total loss after catching on fire Thursday afternoon, according to fire crews who responded to the scene.

The Bella Vista Fire Department responded at 1:27 p.m. to a call of a house fire on Cedar Crest Drive. A neighbor heard a possible explosion, saw the fire and called 911, according to the fire department.

The homeowner was not at the house at the time, and no one was injured, according to the Bella Vista Fire Department. Crews had the fire under control within 20 minutes, but the home sustained significant damage, leading firefighters to declare it a total loss.

Crews will check on the area throughout the night to make sure the fire does not flare back up, according to the fire department.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
