Two people in Arkansas have been infected with the H1N1 virus, commonly known as swine flu, according to the Arkansas Health Department.
The health department has monitored the patients over the last several days without evidence of it spreading to any other humans. Both patients have fully recovered, according to the department.
The cases were confirmed by the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention after the patients were infected, according to the health department.
“We are not currently aware of any additional human influenza cases caused by H1N1 and do not anticipate making any new public health recommendations regarding human exposure to swine,” said Dirk Haselow, state epidemiologist.
