Gentry Man Arrested In Crystal Meth Bust

A Gentry man was arrested Friday (Sept. 14) by Benton County Sheriff Department’s Special Operations Team on several drug charges.

A Gentry man was arrested Friday (Sept. 14) by the Benton County Sheriff's Office following a major meth bust that also involved local police.

Hefton Young, 56, was taken into custody after a narcotic search warrant was executed at his home on East 1st Street in Gentry after an extensive investigation.

Detectives, along with Gentry police, confiscated approximately 516.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine during the search of the property. The meth was packaged in 12 different baggies with weights ranging from approximately .22gg to 172.7gg, according to a news release from the Benton County Sheriff’s Department.

Also located were digital scales, numerous plastic baggies, numerous smoking pipes, two police scanners that were on local channels when detectives entered the residence, brass knuckles, an oil can with false compartment and several miscellaneous prescription pills in unmarked pill bottles.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing, and there are more arrests pending.

Young faces charges of possession of a controlled substance with a purpose to deliver Class A Felony, possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine Class B Felony, possession of a Drug Paraphernalia Class D Felony, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance Class D Felony.
