Load of Hay Catches Fire on Highway 71

A truck hauling hay on a trailer caught fire Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 18) in Scott County.

The truck pulled over after the driver realized the load of hay was on fire, according to a Scott County dispatcher. The incident happened around 1 p.m. on Highway 71 just south of the Fuller Road intersection.

The rural fire department from Waldron and county deputies responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The driver of the truck was not injured, according to a dispatcher.
