One person was hospitalized when his motorcycle was struck by a Jeep on Interstate 540 Thursday night (Sept. 19), authorities said.
Kevin Erickson of Yukon, Okla., was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center with non-threatening injuries and has been released, officials said.
The accident happened about 8:30 p.m. when a Jeep changing lanes struck the motorcycle from behind, said Highway Patrol Trooper Justin Nowlin. The motorcycle became pinned beneath the Jeep. The driver was wearing a helmet.
The Jeep driver, Arah Coleman of Kansas City, was issued a careless-driving citation, Nowlin said.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes near exit 67 in Fayetteville.
