A Crawford County man faces charges of battery after allegedly attacking with a baseball bat Saturday (Sept. 21) night, authorities said.

Daniel Clenney, 32, of Uniontown, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of battery in the 2nd degree, according to Chief Deputy Jimmy Damante. That's after authorities said he struck Bobby and Thomas Harris with a bat around 9 p.m.

"His wife was holding a baby and a rifle," said Bobby Harris. "He took the rifle from her and started pointing it at us and shooting."

The two victims, who are brothers, were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries, Damante said. Both men were released by Sunday morning, authorities said.

According to the jail, Clenny bonded out Sunday.

The call originally came in to Crawford County Dispatch as a possible shooting at the store off Highway 220 West. However, after further investigation, detectives determined no one had actually been shot.

"He didn't sustain  injuries where he had to be admitted," said Damante. "I think it was more blood than anything. They got hurt but not anything serious."

Records show Clenney is a convicted felon.
