A Texas man was arrested outside a Fayetteville hotel early Thursday morning after he allegedly fired a gunshot at a group of exotic dancers.

Angel Contreras, 26, of Weatherford, Texas, was arrested on four counts of aggravated assault, discharging a firearm in city limits and terroristic act, according to a police report.

Officers responded to the Days Inn on North College around 2:44 a.m. Wednesday after shots were fired in the area. Police saw a group of men standing outside the second floor rooms, but they quickly ran inside when officers arrived, according to a police report.

Victims told police Contreras was kicked out of the Platinum Gentleman’s Club earlier in the night for acting inappropriately. The women told police Contreras and three other men were standing outside the Kum and Go and making racist comments toward them after they got off work.

The women who worked at the club then went to the Days Inn to try to find their coworker. The men allegedly started “cat calling” at them, the police report states. As the women drove away, they heard a gunshot fired.

Police say they found a shell casing underneath the balcony where they located Contreras. He was arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center. Contreras told police there was a loaded firearm in the toolbox of his vehicle with a full magazine and none in the chamber.
