A baby suffered minor injuries in a crash that hospitalized two people and halted traffic Thursday night in Bentonville, according to emergency crews on the scene.

Police, fire trucks and ambulances responded shortly before 7 p.m. to 14th Street and Walton Boulevard in reference to the crash. Medical crews were treating a baby on-scene at about 7 p.m. and used a stretcher. However, the baby was not hospitalized and will be OK, police said.

Two other people involved in the wreck were transported to Mercy Hospital in Rogers with injuries police believe are not life-threatening. A Dodge Ram pickup truck collided with a Chevrolet Impala passenger car, according to police.

Firefighters could be seen using the "jaws of life" to extricate someone from one of the vehicles. Police said speed could be a factor in the crash, and citations could be issued.
