Man Stabbed in Sequoyah County, Suspect in Custody

Sequoyah County deputies are on scene of a stabbing north of Vian and Gore, according to Sheriff Ron Lockhart.

According to authorities, a 50-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen Sunday afternoon.

The victim is being taken by helicopter to a Tulsa-area hospital to be treated for his injuries, Lockhart said. However,  the extent of his injuries is not being released at this time.

The suspect involved is in custody and is being held at the Sequoyah County Detention Center, Lockhart said for assault with a deadly weapon.

Sequoyah County Sheriff did confirm the two men are related but did not say how. No names have been released at this point.

As of late Sunday night, the victim was listed in stable condition, according to Lockhart.
