Sparks Health System is opening a Vaccination Station to help beat the flu bug this fall. The Station will provide adult flu and pneumonia vaccines.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the timing of the flu varies from year to year. In the U.S., it typically peaks in January or February but can begin as early as October. The experts at the CDC say getting a flu vaccine each year is the best way to prevent the flu. Also, covering your cough and washing your hands with soap can help prevent the spread of the bug.
Insurance is accepted, but without insurance, the flu shot is $20 and the pneumonia vaccine is $108.85. No appointment is necessary.
The vaccination station is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. and is located at the Sparks Medical Plaza, 1504 Dodson Avenue.
