A 59-year-old LeFlore County woman is dead after being shot in the abdomen Sunday night (Oct. 13).
The gunshot wound appears to be accidental, according to LeFlore County Sheriff Rob Seale.
“At this point, I don’t believe there was any foul play in her death,” Seale said. “It looks like maybe the gun hit the floor and just went off or that sort of thing.”
The woman’s body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office in Tulsa for an autopsy, Seale said.
Seale said the woman was from the Milton area, just west of Bokoshe. The woman’s identity is not being released at this time.
Seale said the investigation is ongoing.
