A 21-year-old Rogers man was killed, and a passenger was seriously injured, following a one-car wreck on Highway 71B in Rogers on Sunday night, according to police.
Oscar A. Sandoval-Romero, 20, of Rogers, was driving a white Honda Civic along Highway 71B when he lost control of the vehicle at the curve near the North Bloomington Street Pizza Hut. The car skidded across the opposite lanes and struck a utility pole on the east side of the roadway, according to the Lowell Police Department.
The passenger in the vehicle, Gleen S. Noriega-Pineda, of Rogers, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Responding emergency crews transported Sandoval-Romero to Mercy Hospital in Rogers. He was later airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., police said.
The one-car crash is under investigation by police.
