The Fayetteville Fire Department responded to a fire at Nantucket Apartments at 605 Nantucket Drive.
The residents of the building were evacuated when the responders showed up on scene. They have been allowed to return to the building.
Officials said there was no one in the apartment at the time of the fire and no one was injured.
A smoldering fire was called in at 7:30 a.m. The fire spread into the attic and the extent of the damage and cause is being investigated.
