Companies thrill at getting their products mentioned on Twitter by celebrities who have an army of followers.
Jen Bielema’s 25,956 followers lag behind pop singer Katy Perry’s record-setting 46.6 million.
But the Razorback head football coach’s wife has a respectable number in a college town with a population of only about 74,000.
That’s where Riffraff comes in.
The women’s boutique on the Square in downtown Fayetteville figures they score a touchdown every time the twentysomething Jen Bielema mentions them in a tweet.
Kirsten Blowers, the store’s owner, said Jen Bielema gets a new free outfit, including jewelry, shoes and accessories, for every home game.
In return, Jen Bielema mentions the store in tweets that also usually include photographs of the outfits and store-related links and hashtags.
For instance, a tweet last Saturday on @jenbielema reads: “Go Hogs! #Riffraff leopard booties, black top and necklace! Thank u always! shopriffraff.com #riffrafflove”
As of now, there is no word whether her husband, head coach Bret Bielema, with his 77,992 Twitter followers, has plans to tweet links and hashtags for the team’s uniform and sideline-apparel supplier, @Nike.
