Open carry supporters organized a walk Saturday afternoon (Nov. 23) in Northwest Arkansas.

The walk started at Neal's Cafe in Springdale.

The controversy began after a bill was passed by state legislators in the 2013 legislative session, which has languange some believe allows for open carry of firearms.

Organizers say their mission is to let the community know that just because they are carrying firearms openly doesn't mean they are a threat to society.

About fifty people attended.

I was pretty sure people killed people. I don’t think I have ever seen a gun sprout legs walk up to someone and shoot them. Or, I’ve never seen a gun demand someone pick it up and go on a shooting spree. But If you have you should get that gun and go on a world wide tour displaying the amazing walking and talking murder gun,………or maybe you just need to put down the weed.

Congratulations to these brave men and women for upholding the Constitution and the rule of law. I am constantly amazed by the number of people who want to overthrow the rule of law in order to disarm the citizenry and empower the government even more that it is already.

I agree that the war on drugs has been a huge mistake, just as the first prohibition was.
