A Springdale woman was shocked by a police Taser after stabbing a woman over the weekend, police say.

Christine Lee Wilson, 18, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of second-degree domestic battery, flight from an officer and resisting arrest. She remained Monday in the Washington County Detention Center on $7,500 bond, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Officer Walter Mercado responded to a domestic disturbance at 3726 Brierwood St. in Springdale and said he saw a woman holding Wilson in a bear hug from behind, while Wilson attempted to stab her several times with a knife. Wilson then stabbed the woman in the thigh and ran toward the backyard away from responding police, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Mercado’s Taser probes struck Wilson in the right should and right leg, causing her to fall down. Wilson, still holding the knife, was again shocked by the officer’s Taser before following the officer’s instructions, the preliminary report states.

The stabbing victim sustained injury, according to the report, although the report does not state the extent of the injury or the victim’s name.
