Randall Swaim dropped in to update us on the progress of the Daniel C. Martinez Scholarship fund. They are just a few thousand dollars away from reaching their $50,000 goal - and they need your help!

On Tuesday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m., there will be a Christmas Lights Fun Run to benefit the Daniel C. Martinez Memorial Endowment Scholarship. The run will begin at Southside High School, trail through the beautifully lit up Creekmore Park, and end back at Southside. Donations will be collected throughout the evening at Creekmore Park, with hot chocolate, apple cider, and fresh coffee available to sip on while you stroll and check out the Christmas lights around the park.

When asked why he started this scholarship, Randall replied, "I did this to honor Danny's life." Swaim has had tremendous support from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, the Officer Martinez Scholarship Committee, and the River Valley Marine Corps League, and he says he is grateful for everything they have accomplished.
