Northside Rolls, Southside Falls In Coke Classic Opener

There was no holiday rust for the Northside Grizzlies as they rolled to a 85-59 win against Subiaco Academy in the opening round of the Coca-Cola Christmas Classic.

Northside had four players score in double figures, being led by Joe Dye with 18 points. Cash Krueger also scored eight in the loss for the Trojans.

The Grizzlies led was trimmed to as little as 11 in the second half, after lead by 21 at intermission, but the Northside defense turned several quick turnovers into easy buckets.

Southside was able to hang with Texarkana (TX) for two and a half quarters but the Tigers pulled away late for the 83-56 win.

Northside will face Springdale at 7:45 p.m. while North Little Rock takes on Texas High in the first semifinal.

Southside faces Arkadelphia at 4:15 p.m. in the consolation bracket.
