Police departments in Rogers, Springdale and Fayetteville reported at least 20 minor accidents related to icy roads per city on Sunday (Jan. 5).
A local towing company with seven trucks were responding to accident and assistance calls.
"We're seeing lots of people sliding off the road where they need to be winched out," Mandy Manning, owner of NWA Towing and Recovery, said. "We're seeing lots and lots of wrecks, people running off the road and running into each other."
Manning said that before 2 p.m., between 20 and 30 call from people needing assistance were made on top of the multiple wrecker calls.
William Holt lives near Beaver Lake and drives a mini-van, he said he was driving slow and the roads were fine.
