Meera Arunkumar, a fourth grade student at Bellview Elementary School in Rogers, won the Benton County Spelling Bee on Saturday.

Arunkumar won by spelling the word eclectic and said she couldn't be more excited about the victory.

"I feel great, I thought it was very long and this is the heaviest trophy I've held," she said. "I've never been to a state spelling bee before and I'm very nervous. My dad helped me a lot. He played the audio pronunciations and I spelled them."

The 2014 Arkansas State Spelling Bee will be held Saturday, March 1, in Reynolds Auditorium on the University of Central Arkansas campus in Conway.
