The Arkansas women's basketball team needed something to go their way.
Arkansas had lost three straight SEC games. Each of which came by seven points or less.
Sunday afternoon, Jessica Jackson put the Razorbacks on her back and carried Arkansas to a 68-65 win against Ole Miss.
“Well obviously that is a good win for us," Arkansas coach Tom Collen said. "We have lost a couple of these close games but tonight we found a way to battle and get a win and that is what this team needs. We have to learn to win in these tough situations. We got a little bit rattled but got our composer back and made some plays to get a win that we really needed."
Jackson scored a career high 31 points on 11-of-22 shooting, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range. Melissa Wolff added 14 points off the bench while Jhasmin Bowen added 11. Calli Berna added to her SEC leading assist total as she had 12 compared to just two turnovers.
Arkansas (15-4, 2-4 SEC) led 45-29 after a Jackson layup with 16:24 left in the game but Ole Miss reeled off a 25-2 run to take a seven point lead with seven minutes left.
Wolff scored four straight points in the final three minutes to tie the game at 63-63 then the Razorbacks made four straight free throws to secure the win.
