Deputies: 18 Year Old Fort Smith Man Stabbed In Parking Lot

The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing.

Deputies said that at around 2 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 25) deputies responded to Mercy Hospital for a report of a stabbing.

When deputies arrived, they discovered an 18 year old Fort Smith man recovering in the emergency room.

According to authorities, the victim was at a private party at the El Far West Club when he was stabbed during a fight in the parking lot.

Deputies said the victim was stabbed at least two times, one of the stab wounds was in the torso area.

The 18-year old victim was treated and released the same day.

Investigators identified the suspect as Deantoni Ward, 22, of Van Buren.

Sebastian County Investigators partnered with the Van Buren Police Department where they arrested Ward at his home.

Ward was charged with Battery, 1st Degree and he is in the Sebastian County Detention Center with no bond.

Investigators are still interviewing witnesses related to the case.
