Bentonville Shocks Springdale at Buzzer

The top five showdown of Bentonville at Springdale lived up to the hype Tuesday night. No. 2 Bentonville shocked the No. 3 Bulldogs with a 57-56 victory, thanks to a Malik Monk buzzer beater from 30 feet away.

The win puts Bentonville alone in first place in the 7A/6A-West at 6-0 in conference.

With the game tied at 54-54 in the final seconds Springdale took a two-point lead with one second left on a Tereke Eckwood lay up. On the ensuing inbound Monk hit the fade-away three to beat the clock.

Bentonville got down by as many as 10 points in the third quarter but used a late run to end the game.
