A nine-year-old boy from Spiro, Okla. is in critical condition at a Tulsa hospital after being involved in a single-vehicle crash in LeFlore County Thursday night (Feb. 13).

Troopers said the driver of the car, Dylan White, 22, from Spiro was cited for driving under the influence after troopers smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on him.

According to the incident report, White was headed southbound on Cowshed Crossing road when he drove off into a ditch causing the vehicle roll over at about 9 p.m.

The 9-year-old was taken by medical helicopter to the hospital in Tulsa with head, leg and internal injuries, according to the incident report.

The report said White was treated for his injuries at a Poteau hospital. He was released Thursday night.

Troopers said neither White nor the boy were wearing seat belts.
