Roland Fire Chief James Edwards said a family was burning brush when the fire got away from them due to extremely windy conditions. Edwards said no one was hurt in that fire.

Crews also responded to a large grass fire in the Liberty area, just off Old Remy. Authorities said about 20 acres burned in that fire.
