A van driver lost control and drove into an Arvest Bank location in Fayetteville on Friday afternoon, according to emergency responders at the scene.

Crews responded around 3 p.m. to the Arvest Bank on North College Avenue in reference to a vehicle that had smashed into the bank after the driver became incapacitated, possibly because of a diabetic episode, Fayetteville police said.

No one was transported to the hospital in connection with the incident, according to emergency crews.

The damage to the building was minimal.

That man who killed his wife and crippled his stepson by crashing his truck into their vehicle at the Wedington-Salem intersection a few years ago was having a diabetic episode. Is there nothing to prevent this? Should diabetics be allowed to drive?
